Heather Rodriguez is an associate attorney in the firm’s intellectual property group, where she focuses on patent prosecution with additional experience in trademarks and licensing.

 

During law school at the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University, Heather clerked at TraskBritt, working on both domestic and international patent prosecution for clients including Micron, Hughes Christensen, Sorenson Communications, and Alliant Techsystems. Before joining MBL (formerly KB&A), she established an independent IP consulting practice, advising inventors, entrepreneurs, and early-stage startups on IP strategy and initial filings across a wide variety of scientific and commercial disciplines.

 

Prior to law school, Heather earned a B.S. in Biological Engineering from Utah State University and gained lab research experience at Spendlove Research, where she contributed to the development of a cytokine assay test.

 

In her spare time, Heather enjoys running, road biking and spending time outdoors with her husband and their three children.
